With the beginning of the Advent season, peace returns - at least that is the actual meaning of this time. The word Advent means "arrival of Christ" and comes from Latin. The Advent season begins four weeks before Christmas. That is why we also light a candle on the Advent wreath every Sunday in Advent. The Advent wreath combines various Christian symbols. On the one hand, the light of the candles stands for the birth of Christ. On the other hand, the fir green symbolises hope and eternal life - just like the circular wreath shape.

The postcards Advent calendar by Sellmer are designed as practical folding cards. On the front is the actual calendar with the 24 little doors. When the card is opened, there is space for personal greetings. You can use a total of three writeable pages for your pre-Christmas message. Sellmer Verlag has been around for quite a long time, since 1945 to be exact. Sellmer was the first Advent calendar publisher to enter the market after the Second World War. It was founded by the grandfather of Frank and Oliver Sellmer, the current bosses.
That is why there are still many old motifs in the programme today. A treasure trove for nostalgia lovers!

Even with new motifs, we always make sure that the motif on the front lives on when the little doors are opened. In other words, the reverse image complements what is happening on the front. A nice surprise every day. The city motifs show sights of the respective region, as well as Christmas ornaments.

All our Advent calendars and Christmas cards are made in Germany. We are a small family business with about 10 employees.
