A scent of coal and sulfur, a reminder of the times when the steam locomotive shaped the image of the railroad.
The locomotive 50 3616 shown on the package was built in 1940 by the Schichau company in Elbig (now Poland) and came to Karl-Marx-Stadt in the 1980s.
Here she also drove trains from there to Aue, Annaberg-Buchholz, Johanngeorgenstadt and Zwickau. In Schwarzenberg, near the current railway museum, she sometimes took a break.
After 1990, the newly founded Association of Saxon Railway Friends bought the locomotive, had it ready for operation and has since been using it for special trains in Saxony but also in Franconia. It is located in the Schwarzenberg Railway Museum.
It is currently undergoing a full inspection at the Meiningen plant and should be back in steam next year (2021) ...
