Germany's capital Berlin without its city palace is now unthinkable. The people of Berlin decided to build a new castle and in 2013 the implementation began. In the 15th century, the Berlin Palace was built by Brandenburg margraves and princes and served as their residence. In the 18th century it became a royal Prussian residence and in the 19th century it was an imperial residence. Master builder Andreas Schlüter transformed the Berlin Stadtschloss into one of the most important baroque castles in the world. It was partially destroyed in World War II and the government of GDRdemolished the Berlin City Palace.
