Christmas Postcard Seiffen

Seiffen in the Erzgebirge is a state-approved resort. But Seiffen has become famous for his wooden art. Many toy makers are at home in Seiffen and open the doors of their demonstration workshops to visitors. That's why Seiffen is also known as a "toy village". Max Schanz designed the "Striezelkinder" and received the gold medal at the 1937 Paris World Fair. In 1953, the Erzgebirge Toy Museum Seiffen opened its doors and vividly shows the development of the Erzgebirge wooden toys from its mining roots to today.

In Seiffen the highlights of the Advent season are the parade on the 1st Advent sunday with the children's group "Living Toys" and the great mountain parade on Saturday before the 3rd Advent sunday.
